Abstract:  12 August 1956. A public manifestation of the clandestine uniate Church from Romania. A document and a testimony. Ten years after the dissolution by law of the Romanian Uniate Church (1 December 1948 its persecutors the communist State and the Romanian Orthodox Church were sure that the resistance had finally ended. But was a false impression as the Uniate Church was carrying on its activities in the catacombs (private houses, cellars, sheds, glades, etc). The provisional clandestine hierarchy was in full activity. The imprisoned bishops (alive only three) were determined not to submit. A large number of priests who did not take up orthodoxism were carrying on an intense activity. Many of the apostate priester returned to the clandestine Church. In short, the Uniate Church was doing its duty, but the number of believers was much diminished.
